About

I spent 24 years at Baxter Healthcare, a global healthcare manufacturer, starting as an analyst programmer and finishing as Data and Digital Solutions Manager, leading a regional team across data, analytics, digital solutions and digital marketing. In between I was an ERP reporting lead, a solutions architect and a data architect. The work covered Manufacturing, Warehouse, Inventory, Procurement, Sales and Marketing across Asia Pacific, EMEA and the Americas: ERP consolidation, Japan's move off the iSeries, a regional data strategy, and the dashboards and applications that teams used to run their business.

In April 2025, after a deliberate year away, I co-founded Smarrtpad and became its CTO/CIO. I have personally designed and built its two platforms from scratch, using an AI-assisted workflow in which agentic coding tools such as Claude Code are part of the daily job, while I make and review the architecture decisions.

I like the whole path from a messy business question to something people actually use: gathering the requirements, mapping the process, modelling the data, building it, testing it and getting it adopted. I also run a homelab where I test everything I build, and I write about it on the homelab log.

Now: Smarrtpad

Co-Founder & CTO/CIO since April 2025. Smarrtpad is pre-launch and completing its US company registration. Both platforms below are feature-complete and in testing ahead of deployment.

Smarrtcare

Home health management for U.S. agencies

A multi-tenant SaaS platform covering caregiver and patient records, caregiver matching, scheduling, payroll, and billing with A/R. Caregivers use a mobile app with GPS-verified visit check-in and check-out, and structured vitals and ADL capture. The app works offline and syncs safely when the connection returns.

Inadlaw

Micro-lending for a Philippine daily-collection business

A multi-tenant platform for loan origination, date-effective rate and fee policy, collection scheduling and a collection ledger. It replaces a legacy spreadsheet system, reproducing its verified formulas exactly, and includes an offline-first mobile app so field collectors never lose a payment in a low-signal area.

Selected work

Delivered at Baxter Healthcare. Most of these ran the full cycle: requirements, planning, design and implementation.

PD Patient Tracker

Led and built the regional dashboard that gives senior management a view of the Peritoneal Dialysis business across Asia Pacific. It consolidates every country's data, each feeding a local dashboard, into one regional data model, with local hierarchies aligned to a global structure. Included the data pipeline design and implementation.

Nucleus

Designed and developed the Asia Pacific data strategy to acquire, consolidate and harmonise regional data into a single source of truth, replacing Excel, CSV and text files passed around by email and shared drives. The hardest part was the differing commercial practices and regulations in each country.

Sakura Project

Moved Japan's commercial data and processes off the iSeries (AS/400), where maintenance costs had become prohibitive, onto an Oracle database with Oracle Application Express for data maintenance. Reviewed current processes, designed, developed and implemented the solution, including BI, rental billing, maintenance applications and EDI integration.

Country PD data & dashboards

Data acquisition and dashboards for Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, ANZ, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. Most countries run on distributors, so much of the work was acquiring data in many formats from many sources. In one country we built an application for the clinical nurses who collect the data.

PD Patient Management System

One Southeast Asian country was counting patients in Excel, which took hours every month-end. We built an application for the on-field clinical nurses to record patients as they are seen, so the country could see its numbers as they happen.

Regional ERP report consolidation

As part of the regional implementation team for the global ERP program (B4One), I led the collection of existing ERP reports from every country, then the matching, consolidation, decommissioning and development of reports. I also supported the regional data warehouse that fed from the new consolidated ERP.

ANZ commercial sales BI migration

Worked as the internal IT resource alongside a consulting company to migrate Commercial Sales BI from StayinFront to IBM Cognos. The migration moved it onto the new data warehouse and brought in more data sources.

Warehouse & supply chain applications

Supported the ANZ warehouse day to day and built the applications around it: a handheld proof of delivery application carried by drivers, a New Product System workflow, service level and inventory dashboards, and a JAN code generator on JD Edwards for Japan.

Planning & BI for ANZ

Forecasting and Budgeting on Cognos Planning to centralise and improve the country's financial planning; Pharmacy BI to help the compounding business analyse drug use; and Service Level BI to measure service levels by customer and product. Also rolled out My Kidney Journey, a patient resource site, across Asia Pacific.
